Elizabeth is a *nationally certified mindfulness teacher and a psychotherapist and specializes in mindfulness based counseling and mindfulness training for general and professional application. She has been counseling since 1986 and teaching since 1996. She divides her time between St Louis, MO and Santa Fe, NM.
Elizabeth has over 40 years of mindfulness training and practice and 20 years of teaching it locally and nationally. Her training includes having lived for 10 years in East Asia studying mindfulness formally with traditional meditation masters. She then completed a 2.5 year mindfulness teachers training and certification at SRMC in northern California. She co developed, with The Center for Contemplative Mind in Society , the nationally recognized mindfulness program at Monsanto Co in 1999 and the MBCT program at Clayton Behavioral in 2014. She has taught mindfulness in a variety of settings but specializes in mental health applications.
She has over 35 years of clinical training as a psychotherapist and 30 years of specializing in mindful psychotherapy. She has trained in numerous modalities including; object relations theory, relational psychology, somatic, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic styles. Her early professional experience includes; Haight Ashbury Free Clinic Detox, University of CA Medical Center Neurobehavioral Psych inpatient unit, 1st Hospital Vallejo (CA) inpatient Dual Diagnosis Unit. She has worked in private practice for over 30+ years.
