Contemporary mindfulness has become increasingly popular due to research demonstrating its effectivity in stress reduction, emotional regulation, improved attention, equanimity, kindness and general wellbeing.  This 6 week course goes beyond basic stress reduction and identifies the emotional dysregulation cycle and mindful reregulation skills thereby offering a condensed yet comprehensive application of contemporary mindfulness on our busy modern lives.  This will be a small class.

Introduction to Mindfulness talk

This 2 hour introductory talk is offered 3 times a year and includes the technique of Insight meditation (generically called mindfulness meditation) and an overview of its context, the 3 Foundations of Mindfulness from the Theravada teachings. Both sitting & walking meditation will be taught. No religious affiliation is required.

Metta means kindness and supports the Path of Mindfulness.
This group will include reading the metta sutra (or other),
guided metta practice and dialogue on personal daily metta.
Group participant are encouraged to share leadership responsibilities.
